Just recently we`ve been informed by the head our Software development that many users of our snom phones use their installations in a quite lightheaded way. Basically you can distinguish between two types, which however bear the full risk that unwanted visitors/hackers have access to their snom phones or network etc.
First type: the enemy of the password: many forget or believe that it is not important to protect their web frontend with a password. In the worst case this means that any user can register as an admin on the snom phone and change ALL alignments. Although it is very easy to define a password:

Second type: one firmware forever! There is a reason why we develop our firmware constantly, because not just the technique is developing but also the knowledge and the skills of those who want to break into the system from the outside. Of course it is great if you brought your snom phones in 2007 and ever since they worked without problems. But still it would be advantageous to the security of the installation if you update the firmware from time to time! (E.g. the perfect time would be summer time when most people are on holidays
)
And installing a new firmware is also very easy:
Note: please define your passwords and do updates in regular periods, therefore we develop our products further- we promise! ;o)
