Hold music is a tricky thing to get right. Let’s face it: being on hold in the first place is bad enough, so being subjected to bad music just adds to insult to injury. But with research suggesting we spend almost two days a year on hold, picking the right tune is vital for a company’s brand value.

We firmly believe that brand value can be built though the use of sound and as a telephony company that specialises in innovation we couldn’t think of anything worse than having irritating hold music representing snom. Research tells us that certain sounds can relax the listener and make then feel calmer and happier. So we put on our thinking caps and decided that we needed something both totally unique and calming for callers to listen to.

We‘re keen to embrace video as a communication medium and have spent several month working closely with film production company Antara on the “snom OCS Edition Movie.” Since they’d already composed music to accompany the film, it made perfect sense for us to use this piece of music which has been created especially for snom.

Because we wanted our hold music to reflect what’s really important to us, we asked our employees to say hello in their local language to show the global diversity of both our products and our workforce.

We hope you don’t spend too much time on hold when you call snom – but if you do happen to find yourself waiting on our line – sit back and enjoy the music.
