Yesterday we announced our annual list of selected distributors, that have been awarded gold and platinum status. Five firms were awarded platinum status, sixteen firms, achieved gold distributor status.The companies attained the honor for being top sellers of snom technology’s suite of advanced VoIP business phones and accessories over the past year. A few of them made the gold or Platinum list for the third year running!
Gold or platinum status is based not only on the number of snom handsets sold, but also the provision of high quality professional pre-sale and after-sale service. The award-winning distributors will receive a certificate bearing the snom logo, ensuring they are readily identifiable as top dealers.

The last few days have been very busy at snom, but we have great news to report from all our departments.
Our developers are really proud to announce that snom is the first company to enable the auto configuration of VOIP terminals using the TR-069 standard. With the TR-069 standard, businesses and public sector organisation’s using snom phones will be able to customise any number of extensions at no cost and optimise the configuration and standardization of all devices simultaneously. Our sales department is also very pleased with themselves after snom received the Deloitte Fast 50 Award for being one of the companies with the strongest sales growth in Germany for the third year running.
Last, but not least there is also good news from the Marketing team. Our website finally has been translated into Spanish and we are looking to improve our services for the Spanish speaking VOIP community even further in the near future. Mike Storella, Director of Business Development at snom, shares his insights on the IT Expo trade show that took place in Miami, Florida on February 2nd – 4th. According to Mike, the show was a great success in terms of foot traffic and the level of engagement displayed by partners and distributors.
At the show, snom launched their limited edition snow edition phones and also kicked off the first of many VAR certification training programs. The show was extremely busy and snom had back-to-back meetings each day with partners and customers that were in attendance.
A few insights: The channel is now more engaged and hosted services are high in demand.

snom was in Miami for IT EXPO East 2009 the last couple days and made some exciting announcements!
On Tuesday snom announced the expansion of our comprehensive VAR technology training and certification program. The snom Certified Engineer Program (SCE) is designed to train and certify prospective snom reseller partners. These training seminars will take place in major US cities on a quarterly basis throughout the year. VARS wishing to participate in the SCE program can register here.

Yesterday snom made another announcement – the release of the snom snow edition – a pure white, limited edition version of our snom 3xx series. The snom snow edition is a result of the enthusiastic customer reception to the all white snom 820 phone. The snom snow edition is only available from now through March 2009.

Yesterday snom announced that it has appointed Tommy Lee as Sales Channel Manager. With more than 15 years of both direct and channel sales experience, Lee is tasked with growing snom’s network of telecom reseller and distributor partners across the West coast.
“Lee has a proven track record in sales and market development for the enterprise and SMB telecom sectors,” said Mike Storella, snom’s Director of Business Development in North America. “He brings expertise, energy and industry contacts needed to accelerate snom’s sales activities in the west.”
Phone+ comments on the announcement saying, “While most companies are announcing layoffs, IP phone maker snom Inc. is expanding, adding a new position focused on growing its distributor and reseller programs in the Western region of North America.”
